It was a bit of a battle at Troy Burne with storms creeping in from the south and west last Saturday. A short rain delay mid round and a few  short pop up showers greeted us across the border in cheeseland. Greens were in tough shape for the first time ever. Next year will be different, no doubt. Still, sightlines from the teeboxes at Troy Burne are second to none in this area. Each hole is clearly laid out with wide fairways and spectacular landscaping. And those bunkers are huge and deep and the toughest anywhere. If you're in a fairway bunker at Troy Burne, the green is usually out of reach on the next shot. I should know. 

On this day, the best golfers conquered the beast and prevailed with a 9 under Best-Ball score. Pete & Marc, Bob & Dave, and John & Louie finished atop the field. Congrats and great golfing on a tough day. That's focus baby!! Seven teams finished within 2 shots of eachother on top of the leaderboard, and 13 teams finished within 6 shots. That's what we call Fair Competition! Thanks to everyone for golfing.

Highlights included Kelly Farmer's teeshot on the 175 yard, par 3, #13. The ball rolled past the hole, looked in and said, "not today". One foot left for birdie. Great shot Kelly! Mike Finley jarred one for eagle from across the green on the par 5, #12. Twelve taunted all of us with a sucker pin on the front left surrounded by water and protected by a trap. Great putt Mike and nice eagle.
